Korean-German Relations


        The Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Korea share some similarities: both countries have a shared history with regard to the Second World War and experienced an economic miracle in the 1950s and 1960s. Economically, both countries are not rich in raw materials and they are market leader in high-tech area. After the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and South Korea, 2011, the trading volumes have increased rapidly. Based on the intact political and economic relations cultural relations are also continued.
